Border guards thwarted attempts of illegal drug transportation across the border
🔴Border guards of the 7th Carpathian detachment stopped ‘pharmaceutical tourism’
💊Two cars, two routes, one goal – the illegal movement of medical drugs. Both attempts failed thanks to the professional work of servicemen of the 7th Carpathian border guard detachment.
Incident at the ‘Hrushev’ checkpoint
At the ‘Hrushev’ checkpoint, a 52-year-old Polish citizen decided that 226 packages of drugs would comfortably travel behind the double wall of the luggage compartment in his Volkswagen. Control left no chance for the ‘invisible’ cargo. The discovered items were confiscated, and a report was filed against the man.
Incident at the ‘Krakivets’ checkpoint
Another ‘pharmacist’ came under the scrutiny of border guards at the ‘Krakivets’ checkpoint. A 63-year-old Ukrainian returning home in a Mercedes car carried 390 pills containing psychotropic and narcotic substances. The drugs were found among the luggage in a cardboard box.
The border guards sent a notification about the detection of signs of a criminal offense under Article 309 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal production, manufacturing, acquisition, storage, transportation, or shipment of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, or their analogs without intent to sell).
