Tragedy in Lviv: Family, Including an Infant, Suffers from Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

On the night of January 30th, in one of the residential buildings on Promyslova Street in Lviv, a tragic event occurred. Three individuals, including parents and their baby born in 2024, suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. The likely cause was poor ventilation or malfunctioning gas appliances in their dwelling.

The victims were immediately transported to Saint Nicholas Hospital, where they are receiving appropriate treatment. The city authorities are warning residents about the necessity of strictly adhering to safety regulations when using gas appliances to prevent similar tragic incidents in the future.

Experts are warning about the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, which include headaches, general weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, and vomiting. If these symptoms are detected, it is important to immediately stop using all combustion devices, step out into fresh air, call emergency services, and undergo a corresponding examination.

The local government emphasizes: adherence to simple rules can save lives and avert greater disasters. In case of any gas-related emergencies, it is important to call the emergency medical service – 103, fire department – 101, police – 102, or the gas emergency service – 104.
