Ensemble “Verkhovyna” presented a patriotic programme on the occasion of the Day of Heroes in Lviv

Yesterday, 23 May, Ukraine celebrated the Day of Heroes. On this day, we honoured all those who heroically fought for the freedom and independence of our country, all those who gave their lives for it, and all those who are defending their homeland today – during the full-scale war with the Moscow enemy.

On the occasion of the Day of Heroes, an artistic event “Baptised by Fire” was held on the square near the monument to Taras Shevchenko in Lviv. During the event, the Honoured Carpathian Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine “Verkhovyna” presented a patriotic programme – spiritual and patriotic pieces combining music, dancing, singing, theatrical elements and patriotic symbols.

The event was attended by Ivan Sobko, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Iryna Havryliuk, Director of the Department for Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Tetiana Pluhator, Deputy Director of the Department – Head of the Department of Culture, representatives of the public and all interested persons.

The performance was a charity event, and the Honoured Ensemble “Verkhovyna” raised funds during the performance, all of which will be donated to purchase a car for Andriy Demkiv, a defender of Ukraine from the 67th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

We would like to remind you that the Honoured Carpathian Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine “Verkhovyna” has been giving charity concerts both in Ukraine and abroad throughout the full-scale invasion of the enemy. The ensemble’s artistic activities help raise funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and promote unique Ukrainian culture, song and dance around the world.
