A collection of war poetry written in shelters was presented in Drohobych region

The presentation of the collection of war poetry anthology “Poetry without shelter” took place in Drohobychchyna with the participation of the famous Lviv writer Halyna Kruk. The organizers will transfer 25% of the funds received from the purchase of the book to the ZSU.

Rhyming lines born in shelters to the sound of sirens, the sounds of explosions and rocket fire. The pages of the book contain a collection of emotions and testimonies of the authors about the war in the first month of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

“Poetry without shelter.” This anthology is the impressions of 70 poets from the first month of full-scale war. The peculiarity of the book is that all works were written only during March 2022.

Some of the poems were written in bomb shelters and under shelling. According to designer and co-author of the anthology Irena Yanitska, artists from all regions of Ukraine shared their experiences and thoughts.

The well-known Lviv writer and translator Halyna Kruk, whose poems were also included in the anthology, took part in the presentation. During the presentation, Galina Kruk spoke about her own reflections on writing poetry during the war and the importance of dialogue with a European audience regarding Russian aggression in Ukraine.

The book was published in a print run of half a thousand copies by the Discourse publishing house. According to the author of the idea, almost half of the copies have already been sold. 25% of the cost of each book sold is transferred to help the Armed Forces.
