A part of the ProFashion library was opened in Lviv

In Lviv, part of the space of the ProFashion library, which is a branch of the Lviv Municipal Library (Khutorivka St., 24), was opened. Also, on this day, the training of the third batch of the ProFashion tailoring school started.

Despite the martial law, at the end of 2022, part of the library was renovated. A reading area, a fashion workshop with sewing machines, a co-working space, a children’s room, and a lecture hall were created here. Special editions on tailoring, history of costume and fashion were also purchased. In the future, it is planned to update the area of book funds and subscriptions, increase the space for the lecture hall and co-working space, arrange a photo area and create a place for coffee.

After the complete transformation of the library into a conceptual space, it will become a convenient and comfortable place for reading, work, self-development and leisure for Lviv residents and internally displaced persons with the possibility of implementing new projects of integration and self-realization of Ukrainians in the conditions of war and after victory.

“Modern libraries are spaces of cross-sectoral cultural interaction through which the city and its inhabitants change. Every person who lives in Lviv should feel that culture and various cultural institutions in our city are about him, for him, for his sake. Poland became the first country to help Ukraine during the war. We are fighting for our culture, it is important for us to support this culture, and we are grateful to Poland for doing it. We strive for our libraries to become spaces without borders,” noted Nataliya Bunda, head of the development department of LMR.

The presentation was attended by Eliza Dzvonkiewicz, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, and Maciej Troynar, head of the Jagiellonian Foundation, because the revitalization of the library is taking place thanks to the financial support of the Jagiellonian and Polish Aid Foundation, as well as a UNDP grant, coordinated by the KU Institute of the City, in cooperation with the GS ” Western Ukrainian fashion industry cluster”. Training in tailoring is being held for the third time in cooperation with the Lviv Innovative School of Tailoring with the support of Shuller Helfen Leben.

The ProFashion library is planned to be fully updated by the end of 2023. What it will be like after repairs can be viewed at the link –
