The exhibition will last until the end of February.
Yesterday, February 9, the Mykhailo Hrushevskyi State Memorial Museum in Lviv opened an exhibition of paintings by artist Pyotr Sypniak “Codes of the Native Land”.
The exhibition presented 24 picturesque landscapes, on which the artist has been working for many years and which reflect the beauty of Ukraine.
“In every human soul there is a concept of a native land, which is embedded at the level of genetic codes. This self-identification occurs in the subconscious from the feeling of the parental home, the smell of freshly baked bread, the breath of the wind in a clean field… And no matter where a Ukrainian is, he always remains the bearer of the traditions, history and culture of his native land and his people,” says the Mykhailo Museum Hrushevskyi.
All his life Petro Sypniak has been drawing these codes, so close and dear to his heart, and most of which he draws from his native village in Prykarpattia. His work in terms of genre is multifaceted, consists of thematic cycles and series: landscapes, portraits, still lifes, sketches, etc. The artist’s creative work consists of several thousand works.
The director of the department for culture, nationalities and religions of Lviv OVA Iryna Gavrylyuk and the head of the department of arts and cultural development Vasyl Gladkyi took part in the opening of the exhibition.

Petro Sypniak was born on January 29, 1959 in the village of Lany of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. He received his education at the Lviv State Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts (Lviv National Academy of Arts).
Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, co-founder of the “Club of Ukrainian Artists”, People’s Artist of Ukraine. Since 1982, he has participated in art exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, namely: in France, the Czech Republic, Germany, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, Belgium, Italy, etc. The author of more than 20 personal exhibitions.
Belongs to the cohort of artists who are recognized for their technique and style of painting.
