A 20-year-old man and his acquaintance robbed a pensioner in Stryshchyna

Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, a group of persons was notified of suspicion of robbery (part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, in July of this year in one of the villages of Stryshchyna, two comrades were drinking alcoholic beverages. During the feast, a previously convicted 20-year-old man and his acquaintance decided to rob a fellow villager. The suspects broke into the house of an 81-year-old woman. They searched the house while she was sleeping. However, later the pensioner heard a noise and woke up. Seeing the men, the victim started screaming.

However, the suspects managed to steal money, two mobile phones and run away from the scene.

Thanks to the coordinated work of law enforcement agencies, the latter were detained on “hot tracks”.

At the prosecutor’s request, one of the suspects was placed under pretrial detention, while the other was placed under house arrest.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the police department of the Stryi district police department of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
