Under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv city, three residents of Lviv region were exposed and served a notice of suspicion. They are charged with illegal acquisition, storage with intent to sell, sale of narcotic drugs, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons, repeatedly (Part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, a mother, daughter and son organized the sale of drug-containing Subutex pills in Lviv and the region.
They took orders from “clients” for drugs by phone. They delivered the drugs “from hand to hand” by public transport and postal services.
Approximately one pill at black market prices cost UAH 450.
The defendants were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and custody was chosen as a measure of restraint.
During the searches of the above-mentioned persons’ residences, the SBU seized prohibited substances, cannabis, a car and cash in various currencies totaling almost UAH 1,750,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
