A drunk driver and his passenger were injured in an accident in the Lviv district – the police are investigating
The traffic accident occurred on December 28, around 4:30 p.m., on the Lviv-Rohatyn-Ivano-Frankivsk-Mukachevo highway between the villages of Khodorkivtsi and Lany of the Lviv district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the Peugeot 307, a 47-year-old resident of the city of Bibrka, lost control and collided with the Renault Magnum truck, after which he drove into a ditch.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the car and his passenger, a 36-year-old resident of Bibrka, were injured and hospitalized.
It was also established that the driver of the “Peugeot 307” was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
As a matter of fact, the investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings under part 1 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of three to five years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
