Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Lviv region have completed a pre-trial investigation into intentional tax evasion – a medical company artificially understated income tax by UAH 4.1 million.
The investigation found that in 2022-2023, the person responsible for tax accounting at the company included in expenses not the cost of goods sold, but the cost of goods with a mark-up.
She also declared marketing services from controlled individual entrepreneurs who were active employees of the company. In fact, these services were not provided.
During the investigation, the company’s management pleaded guilty and paid damages to the state in the amount of over UAH 4.1 million.
The pre-trial investigation has now been completed, and a motion to release the person from criminal liability due to full compensation of the losses to the state has been submitted to the court.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by detectives of the BES Territorial Department in Lviv region, with the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office providing procedural supervision.
