A man from Lviv was exposed for selling cars intended for the army

Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a 38-year-old resident of Lviv was exposed and notified of suspicion for the illegal implementation of humanitarian aid during martial law (Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect sold three cars imported to Ukraine as humanitarian aid for the needs of the Armed Forces for USD 17,500.

The cost of the aforementioned vehicles, which have been converted for the needs of the military, is more than half a million hryvnias.

During the searches, cash and documents of evidentiary value were seized.

Investigative actions are ongoing, the issue of selecting a preventive measure for the suspect and imposing an arrest on his property is being resolved. Other persons involved are being identified.

Pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv Region, under the operational support of the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv Region of the National Police of Ukraine.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
