Following a public prosecution by prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office, a 29-year-old man was found guilty of illegal acquisition, storage with intent to sell on a large scale and sale of psychotropic substances (Art. 307(1), (2), (3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
He was sentenced to 9 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Prosecutors proved in court that the defendant was engaged in the sale of amphetamine in the city of Mykolaiv. He sold psychotropic drugs in person.
However, after the next sale, the “buyer” went and voluntarily handed over the “goods” to the police and told them who had sold them to him.
During a search of the man’s residence, the police found and seized prohibited substances, electronic scales and cash.
The accused will be kept in custody until the verdict enters into force.
The court verdict will come into force after the expiry of the appeal period.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
