In the Lviv region, the police have exposed an intruder involved in the theft of a donation box for the Armed Forces and the poor

The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

The Zolochiv District Police Department was notified of the theft of a box for donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and low-income residents from the abbot of one of the local churches, whose priests and parishioners initiated the collection of funds. For better accessibility, the box was installed on Chornovola Square – in the city center.

The operatives of the criminal police determined that a 49-year-old local resident was involved in the crime. The stolen donation box was taken from him by law enforcement officers.

Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the intruder about the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
