A resident of Novyi Rozdil will be tried for setting up a cannabis lab in his room
Prosecutors of the Stryi District Prosecutor’s Office sent to court an indictment against a 32-year-old resident of Novyi Rozdil. He is charged with illegal production, manufacture and storage with intent to sell especially dangerous drugs on a large scale, illegal sowing and illegal cultivation of hemp, illegal purchase, manufacture and storage of equipment intended for the manufacture of especially dangerous drugs, organisation of a place for illegal production of drugs (Part 3 of Article 307, Part 1 of Article 310, Part 3 of Article 313, Part 2 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that the defendant was growing cannabis in the city of Novyi Rozdil. For this purpose, the man organised a handicraft laboratory with an artificial microclimate in a room of his apartment. From these plants, he produced a particularly dangerous narcotic drug “cannabis”, which he intended to sell to “customers”.
During the searches, law enforcement officers found and seized special equipment, 22 bags of seeds of the prohibited substance and more than 7 kg of dried cannabis.
The estimated value of the seized goods at black market prices is almost UAH 2 million.
The accused is currently in custody.
The pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Stryi District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
