The traffic accident happened on June 25 at around 4:15 p.m. on the Bibrka-Burshtyn highway in one of the villages of the Stryi district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, a 23-year-old resident of the district, driving a Volkswagen Tiguan, ran into an 11-year-old pedestrian girl, also a resident of one of the villages in the Stryi region, who was crossing the road at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. As a result of the collision, the girl received bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital.
According to the fact, the investigators of the police department No. 1 of the Stryi district police department No. 1 opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the sanction of the article is restriction of liberty for a term of up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years.
