A 49-year-old lorry driver who entered the main road and did not give way to a regular bus caused a large-scale accident with a minibus in Gamalivka near Lviv. According to detailed police data, 28 minibus passengers were injured as a result, including three children.

According to the police of the Lviv region, a 49-year-old driver of a MAN truck with a semi-trailer, a resident of the Khmelnytskyi region, when leaving the main road, did not give way to a BAZ shuttle bus, which was driven by a 41-year-old resident of one of the villages of the former Kamianka-Buzka district. resulting in a collision. The impact caused the bus to overturn on its side.

“The truck driver has been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for him,” the police said.

At the time of the accident, there were 38 passengers in the minibus. On the same day, medics reported 36 victims, including three children. According to detailed police data, 28 victims. Their age is from 3 to 83 years old, all residents of Lviv and the region. Among the injured are a 3-year-old child and two minors aged 10 and 17.

As a result of the accident, the police opened criminal proceedings for violation of road safety rules (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Procedure Code). The culprit faces imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for three years.

It will be recalled that a large-scale accident occurred on January 17 at around 5:30 p.m. on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Gamalivka.
