Prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office completed the pre-trial investigation and sent to court an indictment against a Ukrainian citizen on the fact of collaboration (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that in April 2022, a resident of Volnovakha voluntarily took a position as a fire rescuer in an illegal law enforcement agency created by representatives of the aggressor state.
This is the 70th fire and rescue unit of the state budgetary institution “Volnovakha Fire and Rescue Detachment of the Ministry of Civil Protection, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Donetsk People’s Republic”.
By pledging allegiance to the illegal formation, the man’s actions contribute to the establishment and consolidation of the temporary occupation of a part of the territory of Ukraine in Donetsk region.
The special pre-trial investigation was carried out by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigations located in Lviv city based on the materials of the SBU Office in Lviv region.
Note: Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved by law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
