We remind you that in early March the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine amended certain articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, according to which such crimes as theft, robbery and burglary under martial law are classified under Part 4 and provide for maximum penalties.
On May 16, the Chervonohrad District Police Department was approached by the manager of one of the stores located on Stusa Street in the district center. According to the applicant, on 25 April an unknown man seized the goods from the counter and fled without payment, despite attempts by workers to obstruct him.
In fact, investigators of the territorial police department opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years.
The measures taken by operatives of the criminal police sector established that a 31-year-old resident of Chervonohrad, who had been repeatedly prosecuted for property crimes, was involved in the robbery.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed, the indictment has been sent to court.
