The traffic accident happened on September 21, around 8:10 p.m., on the Lviv-Krakowets highway opposite the village of Nakonechne Pershe, Yavoriv district.
As previously established by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the “VDL” bus, a 36-year-old resident of Khmelnytskyi region, while moving towards the village of Krakovets, ran into a cyclist, a 43-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Yavoriv district, who was walking next to the bicycle in the same direction.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Yavoriv district police department opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty stipulated by the article is up to three years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of up to three years.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
