The detainee, a 53-year-old local resident, faces up to eight years in prison for the crime. Today, January 2, around 02:00, the police received a report that a 32-year-old resident of one of the villages of the Lviv district was stabbed.
The investigative and operative group and other employees of police department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 2 worked at the scene of the incident. The police established the identity of the victim, a 32-year-old local resident. He was hospitalized.
It was also established that the victim came to visit that evening. While drinking alcoholic beverages, he had a conflict with another guest, during which the 53-year-old assailant stabbed him in the heart with a knife.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
