On 22 June, at 18:40, the Rescue Service 101 received a report that the driver of a DAF truck had lost control of the vehicle and collided with a fence and an electric pole on Staroznesenska Street in Lviv.
Fire and rescue units from Lviv arrived at the scene.
As it turned out at the scene, the driver of the DAF truck was pinned down by the deformed structures of the vehicle as a result of the collision. The injured man, born in 1970, had to be rescued through the windscreen, after which the rescuers handed him over to paramedics.
There was also a threat of spilled fuel and lubricants catching fire, so the rescuers created a foam cushion to prevent a fire.
Eight rescuers and two units of special equipment were engaged to eliminate the consequences of the accident.
