Sexual abuse of an 8-year-old boy – a native of Avdiivka – taken into custody
Under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv, a 24-year-old native of Avdiivka was served a notice of suspicion. He is charged with sexual violence committed against a person under the age of fourteen (Part 4 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in July this year, in one of the dormitories in Lviv, where internally displaced persons live, the suspect committed sexual violence against an 8-year-old boy.
At the request of the prosecutor, the suspect was chosen as a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
