Violation of pedestrian crossing rules injures 100 people in Lviv Oblast
This is the data for the first 8 months of this year. The same reason caused the deaths of three people. This was reported by the Lviv regional police.
Due to pedestrians’ failure to comply with traffic signals, 3 people were injured and 2 were killed.
Due to crossing the road in the wrong place, 22 people were injured and 2 were killed.
Unexpected jaywalking caused 17 injuries and 2 deaths.
Five people were injured by drunken pedestrians.
In total, during the aforementioned period, police recorded 405 accidents involving pedestrians in the Lviv region. They resulted in 44 deaths and 382 injuries. In most cases, the perpetrators are still being identified.
