From January to March 20 of this year, 1,161 internally displaced persons, including 896 unemployed, sought work through the local units of the Lviv Regional Employment Center.
In the mentioned period, 163 persons from among the displaced persons were employed under the direction of the employment service. And in general, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops on the territory of Ukraine, i.e. from 24.02.2022 to 17.03.2023, it was possible to provide work to 1,266 forcibly displaced persons. For the most part, visitors from areas of active hostilities or temporarily occupied territories agreed to work in Lviv Oblast in such sectors of the economy as wholesale and retail trade (27.2%) and processing industry (26.2%), almost 9% were employed in the sphere of administrative and auxiliary service, 7% each – in healthcare facilities and transport enterprises.
As of March 20, 2023, career counselors of the regional employment service continued to search for a place of work for 333 internally displaced persons with the status of unemployed. Among them, persons with higher education prevailed (65.6%), aged 15 to 44 (64.1%). Among the IDPs who needed help in finding employment, the largest number of representatives of such professional groups as professionals (21.0%), specialists (19.2%), trade and service workers (15.6%), legislators, civil servants, managers (13.8%).
We would like to remind you that for employment of forcibly displaced persons, employers can receive reimbursement of labor costs in the amount of two minimum wages. This year, 135 employers who hired 300 IDPs took advantage of the compensation program. As of March 20, 2023, UAH 2.4 million was deposited into their accounts.
