In the schools of the Lviv City Territorial Community, additional full-time units of watchmen were introduced so that residents always have access to shelters during air raids.
Each school has 2 full-time units. The corresponding decision was made today at a meeting of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.
“Our school shelters, which are in fairly good condition, should fulfill their social function and be accessible to residents. But due to the fact that the school year has already started, teachers have a heavy workload and cannot stay on duty, we need additional personnel resources. First of all, we are talking about night watchmen who will always be on site and will open school shelters to residents during air raids (in particular, at night and on weekends). Today’s decision of the executive committee will enable schools to ensure full access to shelters,” explains Andriy Zakaliuk, head of the Lviv Education Department.
