During the Christmas and New Year holidays, a number of charity events and festivals will be held in the Drohobytsk community. With the aim of popularizing authentic Ukrainian traditions and raising funds to support defenders of Ukraine.
Taking into account the fact that the war continues in Ukraine for the second year in a row, the Drohobytsk community tries to direct maximum efforts and funds to security measures and support of the military, which defends the country from the enemy. However, it is no less important for us, despite the difficult times, to preserve and pass on to future generations the basis of our nation – the language, culture and traditions of our people.
Therefore, the Department of Culture and Tourism Development is preparing a number of interesting authentic events to fill the cycle of Christmas and New Year holidays with cultural and artistic events and carol festivals. Their goal is to promote the traditions of the Ukrainian Christmas carol and authentic greetings among both adults and children.
Already tomorrow, December 26, a traditional exhibition of Christmas baubles and grandfathers will take place in Drohobych. Self-made Christmas attributes will be waiting for the visitors. They will be brought from different parts of the Drohobych territorial community. The presented exhibits will popularize the unique traditions and customs of our region.
The Christmas exhibition can be viewed from 12:00 tomorrow, December 26, on the terrace of the “Franko beef & burger” establishment on Rynok Square. It will last only one day.
In parallel, starting from December 20, a flash mob “Drohobychchyna carols” will be held in the church parishes of the Drohobych community, which will be reinforced by professional performers – groups of the municipal chamber choir “Legenda”, “Boyan Drohobytskyi” and the choir of the Honored Carpathian Song and Dance Ensemble of Ukraine “Verkhovyna”.
On January 4, Drohobych will host a large-scale gastronomic festival “Gazdynia Fest”, which for several years in a row brings together the best gas houses of the Drogobych community with unique festive dishes.
And on January 7, the Nativity Parade will pass through the streets of Drohobych, which will demonstrate all the beauty of Ukrainian Christmas traditions, which are passed down from year to year to the next generations.
All events in the Drohobytsk community will be of a charitable nature.
