A three-day promotional tour was organised in the Lviv region for the Association of Inbound Tour Operators of Ukraine, which is currently focused on domestic tourists.
The purpose of the event was to familiarise the participants with the tourism potential of Lviv region, in particular, taking into account current priorities. Particular attention was paid to ensuring barrier-free access to tourist sites, as well as the availability of shelters.
Tour operators were interested in accommodation facilities, their capabilities, including the availability of safe conference rooms for events and activities, interesting tourist attractions of the region, and picturesque locations.
As part of the promotional tour, Taras Lozynskyi, Head of the Tourism and Resorts Department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, together with representatives of the Association, visited hotel complexes, cultural and gastronomic locations in Lviv, Truskavets, Drohobych, Skhidnytsia, Stryi and Bibr communities.
Particular attention was paid to Drohobych and the city’s Tourist Information Centre.
The head of the TIC, Iryna Shymushovska (Markiv), introduced the representatives of the tourism business to interesting tourist sites in Kotermak, namely the Church of St. George, the Department of Sacred Art of the Drohobychyna Museum, the TIC, the climb to the town hall tower and a visit to the synagogue. In addition, they had a tour of Shevchenko Street and were introduced to the exhibits of the Street Museum. The guests also tasted Drohobych coffee and gastronomic delights from local restaurants.
Representatives of the Association of Inbound Tour Operators of Ukraine noted that Drohobych region is rich in tourist magnets and interesting excursions, so it definitely deserves to be in the spotlight of domestic and foreign tourists.
