The catalogue includes 820 institutions, facilities, projects divided into 19 categories and another 100 catering establishments adapted to the needs of families with children in all districts of Lviv region.
These include medical facilities, spaces, coworking spaces, IDP assistance and psychological support centres, NGOs and charities, chatbots and hotlines.
The majority of the facilities on the map are located in Lviv. The service has already been used by over 2000 users.
The project included the creation of an interactive catalogue and map of institutions, establishments and organisations of various forms of ownership that regularly provide services related to pregnancy, birth and early childcare, as well as social services for IDPs, various types of assistance and services in crisis situations, assistance to military families, as well as information on institutions that can be visited with children in the city and region, or by using online assistance or by contacting a hotline.
“Our goal is primarily to help inform people about organisations and institutions that provide parenting services and help women in different situations. We want fathers to have greater access to services and opportunities, and therefore a slightly easier period of adaptation, childcare and self-realisation. It is especially difficult to live and take care of children in times of war if you are a woman alone while your husband is defending Ukraine in the Armed Forces, or if you find yourself in a new community due to forced displacement.
We also understand the difficult economic and demographic situation in our country today, so we have created a location in each district of the region where mothers and fathers can work together with their children, attend events, and we want to show the benefits of parenthood and the possibility of combining work with having children,” says Yulia Gvozdovych, the head of the organisation.
The web service contains institutions and facilities operating in 19 categories in all districts of the region, as well as all regional and national hotlines and online resources. A detailed list is available on the website.
The project is being implemented in 2024 with the support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as part of the project “Women, Peace, Security: Local Needs, Local Solutions”, implemented by the Ukrainian Women’s Fund as part of the Lviv Regional Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
