In his weekly video message, Andriy Zakalyuk, the head of the Lviv Education Department, shared the latest school news. In particular, he talked about school quizzes and school sports leagues, free swimming lessons, lectures on mental health and financial literacy.
“The first stage of school quizzes took place this week. About 900 fourth-graders took part in the intellectual competitions. The next stage will be quizzes for 8-9th graders. We are very pleased that every school participates in this.
Also this week, we held the first stage of the all-Ukrainian school sports leagues “Side by Side”. Cheerleading competitions were held, with 400 children from the city taking part. We congratulate them and wish them victory at the national level.
In addition, the project “No Small Things” was launched. This is an opportunity for teenagers aged 12-17 to attend lectures on mental health. On our social media pages, you can register to attend these lectures,” said Andriy Zakalyuk.
The chief educator of Lviv also noted that from March 18 to 24, as part of the celebration of World Money Week, about 100 meetings on financial literacy will be held in the city’s schools. This event is organized in partnership with the Credo Foundation. You can register here.
“And about our large-scale project – swimming lessons. If children study in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade and these schools do not have a swimming pool, they can attend free swimming lessons at schools that do. They need to register, and the children will have the opportunity to attend swimming lessons during the spring break,” emphasized Andriy Zakalyuk.
The registration form for swimming lessons is available here.
