The chapel was consecrated in the Lychakiv correctional colony

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, Bishop Volodymyr Grutsa, assistant bishop of the Lviv Archdiocese of the UGCC, consecrated the chapel in Lychakiv Correctional Colony No. 30. The bishop was assisted by prison chaplains of the Lviv Archdiocese.

Bishop Volodymyr congratulated everyone on the Easter holidays.

Commenting on the passage of the Gospel about the judgment, the bishop noted that people convicted by a civil court underwent a certain purification, a change.

The assistant bishop thanked the chaplains for their pastoral service to condemned people, emphasizing that the Last Judgment awaits us all. “It is very important that those roles do not change in eternity, so that we somehow meet later and can reach a joyful eternity together,” he noted.

“I really want, when consecrating the chapel in this place, that the hymn glorifying the resurrected Christ will always be heard here. This will make it obvious that life is stronger than death,” stressed Bishop Volodymyr.

Thus, a solemn academy was held on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the penitentiary service in the Lviv Archdiocese.
