The event is dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the acquisition of Ore of Magdeburg law.
Yesterday, August 13, the 3rd historical forum for young people “Worthy descendants of Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky” took place in the village of Ruda, Gnizdychiv community, Stryi district.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of obtaining the status of a city and Magdeburg law (town) p. Ruda (1623) as part of the local history and educational project “Zhydachiv Region: History, Present, Future”, for the third time the cultural heritage sector and the cultural sector of the Stryi RVA, together with the Hnizdychiv community, organized a forum for young people “Worthy descendants of Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky”.
Andriy Vovchasty, the first deputy chairman of Stryi RVA, visited the forum, which was attended by many guests. He awarded the scholarship winners of the “Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi” scholarship and congratulated the youth on Youth Day.
The head of the youth council at Lviv OVA Bohdan Talatura noted that the scholarship was awarded to an active and purposeful youth who made a significant contribution to the national-patriotic, social-humanitarian, public life of the district and region, as well as to the restoration and preservation of the historical cultural heritage of the Hetman of Ukraine Ivan Vyhovskyi .
Guests of the forum also took part in the silent “Candle of Memory” event, during which they honored the bright memory of innocently murdered Ukrainians.
A guest from Donetsk region also attended the event. Oleksandr Movchan, Deputy General Director of the Donetsk Regional Museum of Local History, presented the exhibition “Soledar. Salt. War”, dedicated to the history of Soledar. It contains more than fifty photos of photographer Oleksandr Parkhomenka and Iryna Rybakova, press officer of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade “Kholodny Yar” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition, a presentation of the region’s gastronomic heritage took place. The guests tried a variety of authentic taste palette of dishes: sticks, stuffed cabbage, Rudyansk home-made sourdough bread, Cossack kulish, beets, Hetman tea, etc. And during the presentation of the project of the memorial sign “Ancestral Estate of Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi”, the guests heard stories about Ukraine, as an independent state with its own identity and great history.
An open-air fair, creative workshops: kerchief weaving, making a free book “I believe and thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine”, making Angels from shoelaces for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, painting on asphalt and other interesting things took place during the forum for guests of the event.
It is worth adding that during the Divine Liturgy in the Kohavina Monastery, the consecration of the key to the first door of the monastery took place. This key, which is 200 years old, was solemnly handed over to the museum of Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyi by the guests of the forum.
