It aims to popularize and support Ukrainian-language books published by publishing houses and publishing organizations of the Lviv region.
The Department of Communications and Internal Policy of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, as part of the Regional Program for the Promotion of the Development of Information Space and Civil Society in the Lviv Region for 2021-2025, announces the regional art competition “The Best Books of the Lviv Region” within the framework of supporting domestic book publishing in 2023.
“After the break caused by the full-scale invasion of the aggressor, the “Best Books of Lviv Oblast” Contest is resuming its activities. This event is of special importance for everyone who appreciates and supports the literary achievements of domestic authors. We call on publishing houses working in the region to join this important event,” said the director of the department Yuriy Horun.
The competition aims to popularize and support Ukrainian-language books published by publishing houses and publishing organizations of the Lviv region.
The contest starts today, August 15. Applications for participation will be accepted for 30 calendar days.
To participate in the Competition, applicants apply to the department at the address: 79008, Lviv, str. 18 Vynnychenka St., room 402, the following documents:
– a statement addressed to the director of the department about including the candidate in the list of participants of the Contest for 2023;

– founding documents of the Contest participant, a copy of the agreement with the publishing house (if necessary) and a copy of the certificate of entry into the State Register of publishers, manufacturers and distributors of publishing products;
– other documents confirming the right to publish (copyright agreement, license agreement);
– a detailed estimate of costs for publishing book products;
– completed online form, which is available at the link: https://cutt.ly/ywghIon8;
– one copy of the edition that will participate in the Contest.
Copies of publications of the winners of the Competition are not reviewed, not returned, but kept in the department to confirm the legitimacy of the publication. Copies of publications that did not win the Contest will be returned to Contest participants if necessary.
Applications and proposals for the publication of periodicals, textbooks and publications that are in sufficient quantity in the library funds of the region, as well as books published before 2022, are not accepted for participation in the Competition.
