In Lviv, in the Hotkevich Palace, the festival of Ukrainian cinema will be held by Arthouse Traffic and the Lviv Film Commission. During the festival, 4 films will be shown, two of which will be shown this month.
This month, the Hotkevich Palace will show:
– “Home” (dir. Nariman Aliyev, 2019, drama) – August 21 at 6:00 p.m.
The events of the film take place after the annexation of Crimea. The main character, Mustafa, a Crimean Tatar, comes to Kyiv to collect the body of his son, who was killed in the ATO zone. He wants to bury him on his native land, in Crimea. He takes his youngest son Alim with him. The road home is, first of all, the road to yourself and your own identity.
– “Bad roads” (dir. Natalka Vorozhbyt, 2020, drama) – August 25 at 6:00 p.m.
The film consists of five short stories about hate and love, trust and betrayal on the territory of Donbas and beyond the demarcation line. All the stories described in the films are united by the theme of roads, and they were based on documentary stories recorded in the east of Ukraine.
