On 24 November, at 15:00, the Potocki Palace will host a presentation of the facsimile edition of the Twelfth Century Apostle of Khrystynopil
The facsimile edition is a reconstruction of the original manuscript that was kept in the library of the Basilian monastery in Christynopol in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is the oldest and most complete translation of the Acts and Epistles of the Apostles in the Church Slavonic language, copied during the heyday of the Kyivan state in the first half to mid-twelfth century. Its value lies in its katenas, interpretations of the apostolic readings. This is the only known complete Slavonic translation of the relevant part of the Byzantine biblical commentary.
The book was published by the Gorobets Publishing House as part of the project “Returning Cultural Heritage to Ukraine”. It has already been presented in Istanbul, Kyiv, Lviv, Warsaw, and Krakow.
