In the Lviv region, a Skoda drove into a ditch and overturned, a 12-year-old female passenger was killed – the police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident
The traffic accident happened today, December 8, around 9:00 a.m., on the Chervonohrad-Belz highway near the village of Ostriv, Chervonohrad district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Skoda Rumster, a 34-year-old resident of one of the villages of the district, lost control, drove off the roadway and into a ditch, causing the car to overturn.
As a result of the accident, a 12-year-old female passenger of the car, a local resident, died at the scene of her injuries. The driver and two other minor passengers aged 8 and 9, all residents of the area, were injured and hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
