Lviv Prosecutor’s Office Secures Return of Funds to the Budget
The Economic Court has upheld the claim by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office against one of Lviv’s municipal enterprises and a company to declare additional agreements to the contract invalid and recover funds amounting to nearly 1 million UAH.
Overestimation of Electricity Costs
Prosecutors determined that following a public procurement process, a contract for the supply of electrical energy was concluded between the municipal enterprise and the company. However, the cost of supplying a unit of the product was unlawfully overstated by more than 31% without proper documentary justification and confirmation.
As a result, less electricity was supplied than planned during the bidding process.
Prosecutor’s Reaction
Reacting to the violation, the prosecutor’s office filed a claim with the court, which was fully satisfied.
As a result of the measures taken by the prosecutor’s office, the illegally spent funds will be returned to the local budget.
