Traffic Accident in Lviv: Pedestrian Hit and Police Investigation
The traffic accident occurred on February 24th, around 18:35, on Trakt Hlynyanskyi Street in Lviv.
Circumstances of the Accident
Preliminary investigations by law enforcement indicate that the driver of a Chrysler 200, a 43-year-old woman from Lviv, hit an 87-year-old female pedestrian from Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the elderly woman sustained bodily injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Investigation and Legal Consequences
Investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment prescribed under the article is imprisonment for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
