An attempt to illegally import undeclared goods was stopped by border guards together with customs officers at the checkpoint “Krakivets”.
The 54-year-old driver of the Renault minibus followed her to Ukraine yesterday evening. A resident of the Chernivtsi region chose the “green corridor” lane to pass the inspection. Based on the analysis and risk assessment, the border guards decided to check the car more thoroughly. In the course of which, inspectors, together with operational employees, discovered goods that were illegally moved across the border in the luggage compartment.
In the boxes, the woman transported portable and air compressors of various brands, rechargeable batteries, lights of various types and soldering irons. In total, the driver tried to hide more than 300 units of household goods from control.
A report was drawn up on this fact. The goods were seized by customs officials, the amount of the assessment will be determined additionally.
