
Prosecutors of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv have completed a pre-trial investigation and submitted the case to the court against a 28-year-old woman. She has been charged with fraud under Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Investigators found that a resident of the Lviv region deceived citizens in the amount of almost 1.5 million UAH under the guise of selling non-existent drones for the army. Among the victims were volunteers and the head of a charity fund.
- The woman created fake profiles on social networks Instagram and Telegram to advertise military equipment and household appliances.
- She demanded full prepayment to a bank card, but did not have the goods, and spent the money on personal needs.
The investigation was conducted by investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 with the support of the Department for Combating Cybercrime in the Lviv Region of the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of a crime until proven guilty in a lawful manner and a court conviction is pronounced.
