Under the procedural supervision of the Zhovkva District Prosecutor’s Office, a local resident was exposed and served a notice of suspicion of illegal acquisition, possession and storage of ammunition and explosives without a permit (Part 1 Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect was illegally storing ammunition and explosives in a village of Lviv district at his farm.
Preliminary, the man found a zinc box with the above on the side of the road when he was returning from a trip to Donetsk region and decided to take it with him.
During the searches, the law enforcement officers found and seized 3 structurally designed explosive charges (anti-tank mines without a fuze), 10 TNT blocks and 1080 rounds of ammunition for a Kalashnikov rifle.
The investigation is ongoing. A number of examinations have been ordered.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region, with operational support provided by officers of the same police department and the Military Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person shall be presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
