There were 12 traffic accidents due to the fault of drunk drivers, fortunately, all of them were without casualties.
Since the beginning of 2023, the police of the Lviv Region have identified and prosecuted 241 drivers who drove vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Of them, 37 committed this offense again.
Law enforcement officers remind that even the smallest doses of alcohol affect the human body: the coordination of movements and the speed of reaction are impaired. This necessarily affects driving a car – the driver cannot adequately assess the road situation, react to its changes in time, which leads to an accident.
The police once again warn: administrative liability is provided for driving while intoxicated under Article 130 (Driving vehicles or vessels by persons who are in a state of alcohol, narcotic or other intoxication or under the influence of drugs that reduce their attention and speed reactions) of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offenses, as well as criminal – under Art. 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
So in no case do not get behind the wheel if you are in an intoxicated state. We also appeal to passengers – never get into a car if you suspect that it is being driven by an intoxicated driver!
