The Halytskyi District Court of Lviv found the driver of a rented electric scooter guilty of violating the traffic rules, who hit a 5-year-old boy in the center of Lviv. He was fined UAH 850, but the man filed an appeal, reports ZAXID.NET.
As indicated in the court ruling, the accident happened on the evening of June 12 near the Lviv University on the street. University, 1. A man was riding a rental Bolt electric scooter and hit a child who had moved away from a group of people. The case file does not indicate where the accident happened: on the sidewalk or the roadway.
As a result of the collision, a 5-year-old boy was hospitalized in a children’s hospital with a fatal forehead wound and was operated on.
In court, the driver of the electric scooter pleaded not guilty. The man stated that when he saw the child who came out of the group of people, he braked and turned to the left in order to pass her. Then he heard crying and stopped to help. The driver of the electric scooter is convinced that the protocol on administrative offenses does not contain evidence of his violation of traffic rules.
However, after examining all the materials of the case, judge Khrystyna Mysko found the driver of the electric scooter guilty of violating traffic rules and fined him UAH 850. The man did not agree with the court decision and filed an appeal.
