The 36-year-old man from Lviv faces up to fifteen years in prison for his crime.
As established by precinct officers together with operatives of the criminal police and employees of other services of police department No. 2 of Lviv district police department No. 2, on March 13 around 3:00 p.m. in one of the apartment buildings on Dovzhenka Street, a 36-year-old local resident during a domestic conflict brutally beat and injured numerous blows with sharp objects to his 41-year-old friend, also a resident of Lviv, with whom they drank alcohol together. As a result of his injuries, the victim died at the scene.
Police officers on patrol determined the location of the intruder and arrested him near the house where the murder was committed.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 115 (Intentional murder) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – from seven to fifteen years of imprisonment.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
