The traffic accident happened on September 12, around 5:15 a.m., on Sichovyh Striltsiv street in Zolochiv.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Volkswagen Transporter, a 59-year-old resident of the Ternopil region, hit a pedestrian, a 62-year-old local resident.
As a result of the accident, the woman received bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial unit of the police of the Lviv region opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
