Under the procedural supervision of the Drohobych District Prosecutor’s Office, a 58-year-old man was served a notice of suspicion of murder (Part 1 Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The most severe measure of restraint was imposed on the suspect – detention without bail.
According to the investigation, in January this year in Drohobych, the suspect killed his partner.
That evening, the man and woman were drinking alcohol together in their apartment. During the meal, a conflict arose between them, during which the suspect picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the 65-year-old victim several times in the neck and chest. The victim died on the spot from her injuries.
After the crime, the man went to bed. Only the next day he called and told his son about the murder, who called the police and an ambulance.
The pre-trial investigation is being carried out by investigators of the Drohobych District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region.
Note: In accordance with Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and shall not be subjected to criminal punishment until his or her guilt is proved in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
