Under the procedural leadership of the Stryi district prosecutor’s office, a local resident was exposed and notified of suspicion of illegal handling of weapons and ammunition (Part 1, Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect was illegally storing and selling firearms and ammunition in Stryi.
It is documented that a man sold a firearm and ammunition to a local resident for UAH 5,000.
After that, the “buyer” left and voluntarily surrendered the weapon to police officers. And also told who exactly sold it to him.
At the prosecutor’s request, the suspect was remanded in custody.
Investigative actions are ongoing, the man’s involvement in other similar crimes is being checked.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Stryi district police department of the Main Department of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
