About 700 participants and more than 30 speakers from all over the world: Lviv Urban Forum started in Lviv

Among the key topics of the event: architectural innovations, the latest technologies and sustainable development in architecture.

On June 28, Lviv Urban Forum started in Lviv – an international event devoted to the topic of restoration, transformation and development of Ukrainian cities and villages. The event is held in Ukraine for the first time, it brought together world experts in architecture, urbanism, planning, as well as representatives of the authorities, chief architects of Ukrainian communities, students and scientists. In total, about 700 participants take part in the forum.

“Modern Ukrainians should set themselves an important goal – to create comfortable conditions for living in all cities and villages, while preserving the identity and architectural monuments of each settlement. I would like our generation to lay a solid foundation for the development of barrier-free, European urban planning, to adopt the best global practices. That is why today Lviv welcomes specialists from different countries who are ready to share their experience and give clear advice for the future reconstruction of Ukraine,” said the head of Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi.

More than 30 Ukrainian and international architects and urban planners became speakers. In particular: Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, leading world urban planner originally from the Netherlands Kees Christianse, architect, author of the project of the Sheptytskyi Center in Lviv Stefan Benish, researcher at the Institute of Art and Design of the Vienna University of Technology, researcher of memorial sites Inge Manka, chief architect of Lviv in 2015 -2019 Julian Chaplinskyi, founder of the Kharkiv School of Architecture Oleg Drozdov and others.
