The purpose of the Forum is to draw attention to the development of the resort industry, to solve problematic issues and to revive work in the direction of referrals for recovery and rehabilitation.
Today, June 29, the International Resort and Recreation Forum was launched in Truskavets, which will last for two days. During this time, three discussion platforms and two round tables will be held, within which they will discuss the state of affairs and further development of the resort and recreation industry to ensure the effective functioning of state and local resorts.
Among the participants of the forum are representatives of authorities and local self-government bodies, medical centers, sanatorium-resort and hotel-recreation complexes, students, and the speakers are leading experts, scientists, business practitioners, representatives of state and local authorities, public organizations.
“I would like to thank the owners of hotels and resort complexes who accepted a large number of people who had to flee from the horrors of the war. You have shown what true respect looks like. Thanks to our soldiers, thanks to whom we can talk about the future today. The sanatorium-resort facilities have an important mission – to heal and rehabilitate our defenders. Our joint task is to give them the best: advanced technologies, a professional and humane approach. After all, after our victory, all people in our country will need quality restoration, because the war left its mark on everyone. It is also important to understand that the world has finally seen our country, with its human and natural potential. After our victory, it is definitely worth waiting for an increase in the number of tourists from abroad and a surge of interest from potential investors. We also have to prepare here. Therefore, I wish the participants fruitful discussions and the prosperity of their work for the benefit of Ukraine”, – stressed the head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozytskyi.
The forum will also discuss the development of the concept of an effective resort rehabilitation system for people affected by the war, which involves the creation of a favorable institutional environment for the development of specialized medical centers, psychological services and physical rehabilitation programs, as well as the upgrading and retraining of people who lost their jobs due to the war or displacement.
“The idea of this forum involves outlining the current state of development of the resort and recreation sphere in the conditions of martial law, because the trends of travel and places for recovery have changed due to the war. We will also discuss ways to improve the provision of sanatorium-resort services for the rehabilitation of people who suffered as a result of the war. This year, the Social Insurance Fund, which directed the recovery and rehabilitation of temporarily disabled persons, was liquidated, and its duties were taken over by the Pension Fund of Ukraine. Because of this, the process of referring such persons to rehabilitation has slowed down, so this is one of the key issues that we will discuss within the agenda, so that everyone who needs rehabilitation can receive it without hindrance,” said the Acting Director. Taras Lozynskyi, head of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Lviv OVA.
In addition, the organizers of the event were the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the Truskavets City Council, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Spa Treatment of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas.
It should be noted that at the beginning of this month, Morshyn was declared a resort of state importance.
