One of the largest enterprises in Ukraine for the production of mattresses is moving to Lviv region

Today, the Lviv region provides shelter not only to Ukrainians fleeing the war, but also becomes a second home for Ukrainian entrepreneurs who relocate their production here. One of them is MatroLuxe – one of the largest manufacturers of mattresses, upholstered and cabinet furniture in Ukraine.

The main office and production of the company before the war was located in the Dnieper. But today, due to the danger of active hostilities, production with modern equipment is moving to Lviv.

So far, only part of the equipment has been moved, workers are expected to arrive.

“We were helped a lot by employees of the investment policy department. We knew about the possibility of transportation, both by rail and by car. We used trucks, because it is convenient and fast. We moved one line in about a week, we plan to start production in two weeks and get the first mattresses, ”said the executive director of MatroLux.

The leader noted that since the beginning of the war, production has decreased many times.

However, the company promptly responded to the needs of the Ukrainian state and society and focused production on social mattresses. These are special lightweight, compact products with low cost.

Thus, in the first weeks of the war, such mattresses, which had already been made, the company gave free of charge for the needs of people who were hiding from bombings and shelling in the subway, specially equipped for storage, and so on.

“Before the martial law, we were one of the largest companies in Ukraine for the production of mattresses. However, now we are the only one of the three leaders who work. We are also committed to helping displaced people, as the main demand is the social mattress, ”added the company’s CEO.

Demand for the social mattress has also become one of the reasons for relocating production to the Lviv region. After all, our region has become a humanitarian hub of Ukraine since the first days of the war.

“Volunteer organizations apply to us a lot and we cooperate with them. During the day we ship more than 200-300 mattresses for humanitarian aid, for IDPs, “said one of the company’s executives.

The company wants to relocate more than a hundred families of employees from different parts of Ukraine to Lviv region and create up to two hundred new jobs in the region. When the war is over, production in the region will not stop, but they believe that they will resume full-fledged work in Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

It should be noted that today 40 companies have already decided to move to Lviv region. In total, the investment policy department has processed more than 200 applications for relocation and this number is constantly increasing.

“We generate preliminary requests from companies for relocation, process them and send them offers with a direct number to the owner, or a representative of the facility where you can potentially place production facilities. And all further communication goes directly between those who seek and those who offer. We have already processed 235 applications, 40 entrepreneurs already have a final destination. And they have already, or partially transported capacity, or in the process of transportation. The business of Lviv region responds well to the needs of relocated industries. Business representatives, owners, directors are freeing up space in order to give someone the opportunity to go to their production, where there are communications, capacity, where everything is set up and ready to work. Business communities are also joining forces to better communicate with each other, ”said Orest Filtz, Head of the Investment Policy Department of the Economic Policy Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
