A dormitory for the accommodation of forced migrants is being renovated in Stryshchyna

Repair work is ongoing in the dormitory of the Higher Vocational College No. 8 in Strya. The dormitory has three floors.

The overhaul on the third floor, which is designed for 75 places, has already been completed – 45 school students and 30 IDPs who were forced to leave their homes and found shelter in Stryshchyna were accommodated in the renovated living rooms.

For a comfortable stay, rooms, showers, bathrooms, kitchens, and a corner for leisure have been thoroughly renovated. All premises are equipped with new furniture, kitchen and household appliances, dishes and other equipment.

They plan to complete work on the second floor by November. Renovations are actively underway on the first floor as well. Currently, the electrical network has been replaced on the 1st and 2nd floors, repair work is being carried out in the premises, fire water pumps have been installed and plumbing work is being carried out.

The estimated cost of works on floors 1-3 is more than 9 million hryvnias. More than 6 million hryvnias have been allocated from the regional budget. In addition, in 2022, the premises of the 4th and 5th floors were renovated.

Today, 112 internally displaced persons live in the hostel.
